Product Reviews
This product is worth the money! I have been using R-cards with 1ml samples and although it works great for safety tests, it doesn't give us the resolution we'd like for spotting septic leaks into our lake. Using 100ml samples really helps. The setup is simple (once one understands to remove the blue cover on the filter paper ;>) ) The funnel leak I had last time was my mistake. I wish I could delete my last review. More importantly than the product, this is likely the most responsive, helpful company I've ever worked with. VERY refreshing and appreciated. Kudos.
This should work well with my lake but my first test was today. Ask me tomorrow. The only issue I had was the holding tank above the membrane leaked. Probably my fault. The "Free Sample Bottle" is a huge help.
The only issue I have is that Roth says store frozen, while our Water Watch group advises us to store at room temp.
Delivery time was adequate and the cards worked as they should
At Choctawhatchee Riverkeeper we still feel that the R card products are the best for our needs. At this time we are training citizen volunteers to do testing so that we might sample stream, river and lake recreational sites more often. We use the ECC R cards and post all results on The SWIM Guide as well as notify the public.
The protocol we use is supported by Alabama Water Watch and is approved for first alert testing by Region 4 USEPA.
Very clever, fast and easy to use. The chicken egg incubator make this affordable and convenient. We test a 60 acre lake and monitor for leaking septic systems or faulty surface discharge systems. Normal E.coli levels in our lake are normally too low to count accurately with R-Cards. Roth suggested we use cards that also test Total Coliform. They have a more likely positive outcome and can indicate the test was OK. They are more expensive so we do 2 or 3 R-cards per or three monitoring sites, plus one "Total" card as a control sample. We also lay our cards in a small tray with edges that can be shimmed to level better than my boat seat. Otherwise the sample will leak out of the card if it's not flat for the whole minute. We'll probably be back with a higher rating after a few weeks of testing.
It’s impressive for the customer response to inquiries and resolve the issue. Thank you.
We have conducted tests with RCARD Ecoli-A and certified laboratories of CONAGUA (Mexican National Water Agency) with excelent results
Love this test. At $2 a test you can test first and ask questions later.
R Cards are easy to use, greatly reduce waste to manage and make our monitoring program possible at reasonable cost
We have used products from Dr. Roth for decades in teaching settings. They are incredibly easy to use and interpret. These products are Godsend, especially to introductory courses.
I agree with Neal 100% - great customer service. I highly recommend these products...I give 6 stars!
Customer service is superb. Hard to find good customer service these days. It appears these people actually care about their products and what people think. Pleasure doing business with them. Refreshing change .
Meets our needs efficiently and effectively at a reduced cost and reduction in waste.
Relating to my review of 9/28/2003, it turns out this was my fault, my previous orders were for 3 ml cards, and this was a 1 ml card. Dr. Roth phoned me up and set me straight. He says you need to let the water gel for 2 minutes before closing the film. This is not convenient for me, so I'll be using the 3 ml cards even though I use a 1 ml sample. I appreciate Dr. Roth taking the trouble to phone me.
All looks ok. This order was send to my Customer in Guyana.
These cards have been so great to use and have a very low environmental inpact.
I find the packaging of the pipettes difficult to open when I am at lakeside.
